This of course is Subodh Gupta "Line of Control" at the altermodern tate Britain. A mushroom cloud made of pots an pans. This is obviously altermodern, and does that job of fitting the description. Common everyday objects put together in a piece of artwork that challenges the viewer to "alter" their view of not only art, but the deeper messages behind it.

This is a painting by John Pule, while I don't believe it to be altermodern, it still is full of a plenty of subject matter to get your brain thinking about.
Bansky (above) is one of my favorite artists of our time period. Out of London, he has graffiti murals all over London depicting nothing but juxtaposed images and objects that constantly leave the viewer asking questions and pondering society norms. He has an excellent sense of what I believe to be altermodern. Such as the image above, also another classic one is a graffiti mural of the mona lisa with a rocket launcher.
